The Boys Season 2 Trailer: The Crew is Back and Covered with Blood

Aya Cash’s Stormfront is bringing the rain

The Boys Season 2 Trailer: The Crew is Back and Covered with Blood 2

You’ve been given a month’s warning, The Boys Season 2 is dropping on Amazon Prime Video September 4th, 2020 and now we have the full three minute trailer.

The trailer promises a bloodier, gutsier, messier test of superhero morality as The Boys blasts forward into its second season. The first season’s finale jammed in the answers to a lot of series-long unanswered questions but also upped the ante by asking even more. Almost every major reveal was flipped on its head as the season came to a close, leaving Butcher (Karl Urban), Homelander (Antony Starr) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) to make stunning discoveries that could blow their motivations to smithereens.

The trailer, while setting us up for a lot of what’s to come, manages to keep its cards close to the chest when it comes to the amended relationship dynamic we can expect to see from our leads. Aside from the many buckets of blood chucked at Hughie’s (Jack Quaid) face, the most exciting new addition is Aya Cash’s gender-bent Stormfront. In comics canon, Stormfront is a primary villain, (and former member of the Third Reich), and for this adaptation, she seems to be the newest addition to The Seven, replacing Translucent.

Stormfront is shown leaning into social media for the advancement of her career, something that looks be threatening to Homelander, his leadership and ego. With the backflips of who is the good guy and who is the bad guy that a show like The Boys does, it’ll be a blast to see how these new additions to the group of heroes, ahem, villains, come to life. The living members of the gang are all back and ready to fight Vought, which is successfully exploiting national fears to justify giving more power to Supes, a theme that continues to hit hard. So, if you’re missing the gorier superhero style stories that have been ripped from theater screens, The Boys has you covered starting next month.

Per Amazon:

“The even more intense, more insane Season 2 finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

The Supes of The Seven also include Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), The Deep (Chace Crawford) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell).  Recurring stars in season two include Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnijc, Malcolm Barrett, Colby Minifie, Shantel VanSanten, Cameron Crovetti, PJ Byrne, Laila Robbins and Giancarlo Esposito returning as Vought boss Stan Edgar, among others.”

The first three episodes of the season will drop on Amazon Prime Video on September 4th, 2020 , followed by new episodes each Friday following, until October 9th, 2020.
