Pennywise Returns to Derry in New IT: Chapter Two Teaser Trailer 1

The first teaser trailer for Stephen King’s It: Chapter Two has just dropped, courtesy of Warner Bros. The trailer, which can be viewed down below, features an all grown up Beverly Marsh (Jessica Chastain), one of the prominent female leads from the 2017 remake. Marsh is seen returning to her old home, only to find that the new tenant, a sweet old lady, just so happens to be the daughter of none other than the homicidal maniac clown, Pennywise.

Bill Skarsgård, the actor that portrays the current iteration of Pennywise in the film, in an interview with EW, when asked how Pennywise will evolve in IT: Chapter Two, stated,

“He’s been doing this forever really, so he doesn’t change in the sense that you would look differently. He looks however he wants to look for any particular prey at the time, but I do think there’s a change,” the actor told the site. “The arc of the first movie is that he, for the first time, experiences fear himself. Now he’s experienced something that he has been inflicting on others and … there’s a shift leading into the second movie.”

This shared sense of fear seems to have already manifested itself in an interesting way, as evident from the trailer. Pennywise tends to be a Lonewolf type of crazy, in other words, the character seldom uses other people in his delivery of terror but the trailer for It: Chapter Two seems to feature a Pennywise that has evolved. Now relying on his earthly connections in order to prey upon his victims.

It: Chapter Two will release in theaters on September 6, 2019
