Sony Release First Trailer Tom Hardy's Venom Movie

Sony has released the first trailer for their upcoming Spider-Man spin-off movie starring Tom Hardy.

Venom is set to release in October of this year and is the first in a line of Spider-Man spin-off movies planned by Sony. The film follows Eddie Brock, a disgraced journalist who becomes the host for an alien parasite that turns him into the anti-hero Venom.

In the comics, the Venom Symbiote has had a number of human hosts including Eddie Brock and Flash Thompson, but its first host was non-other than Spider-Man himself. Spider-Man accidentally used the Symbiote as a Spider-Suit, before learning that was, in fact, alive and discarding it. However, after being tossed away the Symbiote grew to hate Spider-Man and he merged with disgraced journalist Eddie Brock to try and take Spider-Man down.

Along with Venom, Sony has several other Spider-Man universe movies on the go including Silver and Black, (A team-up between Black Cat and Silver Sable) and Sinister Six. (A team-up of famous Spider-Man villains)
